We believe work becomes meaningful when people have agency: the ability to act on what they see, without waiting for permission or access. AI makes this possible at scale. Our Work Operating System is how we're building it.
Our Work OS has four core objectives:
- Define what matters. Organizations, teams, and people set their objectives, and the system adapts its context based on what you're trying to achieve. Context becomes dynamic instead of generic.
- Help you start. Getting from 0 to 1 is the hardest part of AI adoption, so we provide presets that help you automate, write, create, plan, analyze, and think from day one. These are entry points that adapt as you work.
- Remove the distance. Anyone who spots an opportunity gets immediate access to the knowledge and tools to solve it, allowing them to build a first answer before asking for permission, alignment, or budget. The system gives you what you need to act.
- Enable meaningful work. Work is the creative effort of solving problems we choose, to transform ourselves and be useful to others. The system removes everything standing between you and that kind of work.
We use Claude as Cosmico's operating system and the results are real. People move faster, decisions happen with better context, and the gap between questions and answers is collapsing.
But it also creates frustration because you're locked into a single provider's ecosystem. You can't control how the system evolves, you can't integrate other models when they're better for specific tasks, and your context stays trapped in their infrastructure. When you want to move or adapt, you're stuck with what they give you or you have to start over completely.
This is the core problem: you get the benefits of AI but lose control over your own operating system.
We're building our own Work OS to fix this, based on four principles:
- Model agnostic. Integrate any model via API so you can use the best tool for each job instead of being locked into one provider's roadmap.
- Context portability. Company context stays with the company while personal context stays with you, making your learning truly portable. This fundamentally changes the relationship between people and organizations.
- Open source by default. We want to build transparent infrastructure that anyone can configure and develop on, with no black boxes and no proprietary locks.
- Managed service. We help organizations configure it and redesign their work around it, because while technology is straightforward, changing how people work together is the real challenge.
- New organizations. Design your structure around intelligence from day one instead of inheriting legacy processes that were built for a different world.
- Service and knowledge companies. If your business model depends on billable hours and specialized expertise, you need to question whether it survives when intelligence becomes abundant. The first companies to redesign their work model will have the advantage.
- Schools and universities. A system that accompanies students and teachers through their entire journey, becoming an ongoing record of how each person works, thinks, collaborates, and decides. This enables truly personalized education and career paths instead of degrees that certify what you learned years ago.
We're in the exploration phase, looking for pioneer companies to experiment and build the first versions together.
We're not looking for customers, we're looking for partners who are willing to experiment, question their own systems, and build in the open with us. The technology moves fast, but the real work is on redesigning how people collaborate, decide, and execute.
